THE KING - THE THRONE - THE KINGDOM by J W Luman We have been speaking of two views of Christ as stated in Isaiah 9:6. "... a child is born, a son is given..." Whatever else the child achieved, born under the law, to deliver us from the law; born of woman, of mankind, to deliver mankind from sin; born as a child, to identify with us, the human race, the Adamic race; to bring us into newness of life - all of this necessitated the child, born of a woman. But the greatest result of the child, the greatest purpose of the child was that God may have a Son! And The Son that Christ is, identifies with the Resurrection. When is He the Son? Well, He's always the Son! But when is He recognized as this Son? When does He unite with us in the Resurrection, brings us into union with Himself? That we too may be as He is, that we may be one with Him, that we may be a corporate Son of God? God our Father, and we His Son. So it is in this union that we want to deal now. In Isaiah there are two words here. A child is born. That's the way you get a child - spiritually, naturally - a child is born. So whatever is born is a child. But a Son is given. And we're not talking about two different people, but two different realms, two different relationships. A relationship of a child and a relationship of a son. The word "given" in the Hebrew has 40 or 50 terms that define it. But there's one tern in the New Testament that identifies to the term "given" in the Old Testament, and it's found in Galatians 1:16, " When it pleased God to reveal His Son in me." The word is "revealed". So we could read in Isaiah, and we could properly read it this way, "A child is born, a son is revealed." Your relationship with Christ as a Son must be revealed by the Holy Spirit! You can not know that relationship any other way. You are born again. You are born again by the Spirit of God and you are children of God. Then God is your Father, because He is the Father of little children. But there's a greater relationship. That relationship is in the revealing of the Son. When we are no more little children, blown about by every wind of doctrine, no more little children - divided, at odds with one another, walking naturally, but rather we come to a greater relationship, a greater comprehension of the Father, of our relationship with the Father by the revealing of The Son. A child is born. Everyone of you are born again. But if you are born again, you are born again as a child. The Son is revealed. It is God's intention to reveal His Son - not merely to you; to reveal His Son in you; to enlighten the eyes of your understanding, not to just being saved, but to the realization of the indwelling Son! Not that The Son is off somewhere, that the Resurrected Christ, the Eternal Son of God dwells in you! A greater relationship through the revealing of the Son. It is that Son, not just who lives in you, for He does live in you... Well, you can read the Bible and it tells you that. "Christ in you, the hope of glory." "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His." You can have a scriptural understanding that He is in you. Wait a minute. A Son is given. The Son is revealed, It isn't enough that He is in you, and we remain ignorant of that, we remain in darkness to that. No - He who is in you is born in you, He is conceived in you, but He must be revealed in you as The Son - not the child, but as The Son of the Living God! The Son is revealed. Do you understand we're not talking about the birth, the birth is real, the birth is necessary. But until He is revealed in us, we do not know His as Son. And more than that, we do not comprehend our relationship with His as The Son. We will see ourselves as children, children of God, but we will live as children - blown about, disturbed, little children. I tell you there's a greater relationship, there's a greater comprehension. The scriptures speak of it. But only the Holy Spirit can reveal This Son in you! It's not just what the scriptures say, but it's what the scriptures say being revealed in you. You and I coming to see Him in an inward way, so that THE SON, not the child rules and reigns and lives every day, in every situation in every circumstance, and in every location. The Son! Isn't it wonderful? Isaiah saw this. He did not experience this - he saw this for you and I! And yet most Christians have never seen this. They know He was a child, and they know He's a Son. But He's not revealed in them. To most Christians, He's far off. To most Christians He's one place and His Body is somewhere else. To most Christians He is a scriptural teaching. To most Christians He's an historical figure. But Isaiah saw Him being revealed in a people, a people walking in the knowledge of the indwelling Son! Isaiah saw a people living in the knowledge of the Lord! Isaiah saw this Son high and lifted up. Where? In HIS LIVING TEMPLE! Isaiah saw Him - the Lord of Glory revealed in you! So it is This Son about which we will be speaking. I want us to see something about This Son and our relationship with Him. In order to help us I'm going to use a diagram. And I'm going to explain how it will relate. We are going to use three terms. All of these terms have their definition in The Son. These terms are nothing without The Son - He makes them alive. Here are the terms - THE KING, THE THRONE, THE KINGDOM. Now you see, if you take The Son away, there is no King. If you take The Son away, the King - there is no Throne. And if you take The Son away, the King upon His Throne - there is no Kingdom. Because these three terms have no meaning in themselves. They have no substance in themselves, they describe another. It is THE SON who makes them alive. The KING is the type of The Son; the THRONE is the seat of The Son; the KINGDOM is the realm, the dominion of The Son. And The Son is in you! All of these terms apply to The Son who is in you, and when This Son is revealed in you, He is revealed as KING - King of Kings, Lord of Lords! He establishes in you His Throne, His authority. He exercises in you His Kingdom, His dominion, His power! All of this relates to The Son - but He's not off somewhere. THE SON IN YOU! Let's look at this diagram. First we'll look spiritually at a believer. SPIRIT - SOUL - BODY. BODY KINGDOM SOUL THRONE SPIRIT KING This is just a spiritual diagram of a believer - a born again believer. Now let's look at these other three terms - King - Throne - and Kingdom. Now I want to relate these. We'll bring them right over. We'll be talking about the King, the Throne and the Kingdom as He is revealed in you. We will relate the King to the Spirit, we'll relate the Throne to the Soul, we'll relate the Kingdom to the tangible, natural, visible realm which the Body represents. The Kingdom of God speaks of a dominion being expresse, a dominion being manifested. The Kingdom is an outgoing thing. We'll look at that. Back to the believer - we say Spirit, Soul and Body. That's true. We need to identify the Spirit. Paul identifies the Spirit. Romans 8, Paul says, "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His." Peter says, "...being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible seed. " And Paul says, "...unto Abraham and his seed, which seed is Christ." And again Paul says it is "Christ in you, the hope of glory." So if we are going to identify this Living Spirit, then this Living Spirit is The Son Himself! This Living Spirit is Christ in you! This Living Spirit is the Indwelling Son! It is Christ dwelling in you - Christ living in you! For it's not just some spirit, it's the Living Spirit, Eternal Spirit - the Son of God living in you, by His Eternal Spirit, Christ in you! THE SON IN YOU! It is this Son that the Holy Spirit wants to reveal. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to reveal The Son in you, to reveal Christ in you. It is the Father's good pleasure to reveal The Son in you. Remember what Paul said, " When it pleased God... when it pleased the Father to reveal His Son in me." It's the good pleasure of the Father to reveal The Son. Why? Why does the Father desire to reveal This Son? Do you know what another word for "reveal" is? Anointing - anointing is another word for "revealed". The anointing is of the Spirit. The anointed One is Christ - Christ the Anointed! Christ is anointed in you. Christ is the anointed. He is the One to be revealed. It pleases God to anoint His Son! It pleases God to reveal His Son. When the Holy Spirit anoints The Son in you, you and I live in the anointing, we walk in the anointing, we sing in the anointing. But listen to me - the anointing is not a feeling. You may get a feeling, but the anointing is not a feeling - good feeling or bad. No - the anointing is when the Father reveals The Son in you! That's the true anointing. And you and I then live in the knowledge of The Son. We live in the comprehension of The Son. That's the anointing. We speak in that comprehension, we sing in that comprehension, we go out in that comprehension. That's the anointing. Sure it is! It pleases the Father to reveal The Son. How does He reveal? In what manner does He reveal? HE REVEALS THIS SON - AS KING! So we're going to move that term to the Spirit. He is the Son. He is revealed as King. SPIRIT KING Now let me tell you, it is an awesome thing for The Son to be revealed as King, Yes it is. We say, 'Well, He's my Savior.' He is indeed. But most of us have a very small view of Salvation. We know Christ by religious terms - Savior, Healer, Baptizer - and He is all of that. But to know Him as King... Now wait a minute, I didn't say 'to know that He is King - know Him as King'. He is King, but is He revealed in me as King? Because when He is, the King will set His throne in my Soul! All of the activities of the Throne will begin to take place in my soul! SOUL THRONE Have you ever read the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ? Have you noticed all of the activities around the throne? You become a partaker of that. It's true. When the King establishes His Throne in my soul, and the activities of the Spirit begin to dominate my soul ... Why did I say 'the activities of the Spirit dominate my soul'? Have you read in the book of Revelation - who is before the throne? The seven-fold Spirit of God is before the throne! When the King establishes the Throne in my soul, the Holy Spirit has His liberty! He takes dominion. The activities of the Spirit of God begin to fill my soul twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. My soul becomes the dominion of the Holy Spirit! We'll deal with that. When the Throne is set in my soul, the King, the activities of the King, the dominion of the King finds its expression, its manifestation in this body. This body become a subject of the Kingdom! BODY KINGDOM Let me tell you something. The Kingdom of God is not a thing that you and I go set up. The Kingdom of God is a nature, a character that we manifest - everywhere we go. We manifest in that place the Kingdom of our God. If - if the King has been revealed. Little children do not manifest the Kingdom. Little children know nothing of the activities of the Throne. Little children have no understanding of the King. Unto us a Son is revealed. My prayer is that This Son would be revealed in everyone of us. That we'll go out from this place in a greater spiritual comprehension of The Son than ever before. That the King will have established His Throne, that the Spirit of God would have liberty in His exercise, and that the Kingdom of God would become a living reality! THE PERSON OF THE KING We are speaking of the Holy Spirit establishing the Kingship of Christ in you. You and I coming in our hearts and in our very bodies to be subjects of the King. Let's think about that for a moment. Before we are ever a manifestation of the Son, we must become subject to the Son. Before you and I ever manifest the power of God, before we ever manifest the Kingdom of God, before we will ever manifest the nature and character of God, we must be subject to the nature of God - having no lives of our own. It's not me and Jesus - CHRIST IN ME! I'm not interested that this be a sermon or a teaching. My wife and I travel all over the world. I deal with the Church everyday. I deal with ministry, I deal with believers, in some way every day of my life. Our whole life is consumed in dealing with the Church. I want to tell you something. There's not a handful, very few, in the Church who truly have no lives of their own. Most Christians, that I deal with, most ministry I deal with, is in a dilemma - their life/and the life of Christ. All born again, Spirit filled, love the Lord - but not under the dominion of the King. Still having a life of their own. My life. You don't see it in big things - you see it in the little things, You see it in their values, you hear it in their conversations - what things are important. You hear it in little issues, not in big things. It's the little things where we find our own life. I see it every day. God is after a people in whom He can reveal the King. A people in whom the King can establish His Throne. And a people through whom He may manifest His dominion, to the ends of the earth, in little things and big things. But I must warn you again, it is in the small things - our values. It's in the small things where we will seek to keep our own life. It will be me and Jesus. But there will be these areas that I will stay in charge of my life. SUBJECT TO THE KING. I made mention of this because it will become important later, particularly when we start dealing with the soul. Do you know what the soul is? It's made up of our minds, our emotions and our wills. Think about that. Christ establishing His Throne in our minds, our emotions, and our wills. Not my will at His Throne. His Throne established in my will! In my mind. His Throne must be established in the very smallest areas of our heart, smallest areas of our lives. Because that's where the rebellion is - the rebellion against the King - in the small areas. Lord, help us. Let's look for a while at the Person of the King. When we associate the term "The King" with The Son, then The King is no longer a term - The King is a living Person! The Son is The King! And The King is The Son! Listen, our salvation is a Person! We are dealing with a Person. We're being dealt with by a Person - not a teaching, not just a doctrine, a religion. No - our King is an indwelling Person! There's no way I can say this clearly enough. Our hearts becoming subject to a Person - not just a teaching, not just a doctrine. No - our hearts confronted with a Living Person. THE LIVING CHRIST! He is not a teaching with me. No - He lives in me! HE IS THE PERSON OF MY LIFE! HE IS MY LIFE!! That's what we're dealing with here. The King is no longer a term. He is a Person to be revealed in you and I. Psalms 2, verses 1-6, " Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord, and against his anointed saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion." MY SON - THE KING. But notice something in verse two - "...against his anointed..." Who is the anointed of Jehovah? Who is the anointed of the Father? It is His Son, The King! Who is it that you and I, in our hearts, rebel against? His Son, The King! Listen to me. We don't rebel against the idea of salvation. We don't rebel against being saved, but we rebel against the dominion of the King. We'll see this later on. I want to point it out to you. It's a condition here in these scriptures. The rebellion is against the Lord's anointed, and it's always that way. Whether it's in the world or whether it's in the Church, whether it's in heaven or in earth, the rebellion is against the Lord's anointed. And the Lord's anointed is His King. He anoints The King. I set Him in my holy mountain. Who is the holy mountain of the Lord? YOU ARE! The writer of the Hebrew letter tells us that. We are come to Mt. Zion, the city of the Lord. Ye are come to Mt. Zion. Isaiah says that Mt. Zion is a people, that Mt. Zion is a city, the city of The King. You are the holy mountain of the Lord. Where does He seek to set His King? HE SETS HIS KING IN HIS HOLY MOUNTAIN. And what does He do? He makes a decree concerning that King. He says to that King, " You are My Son, this day I have declared it. This day I have revealed you!" It is the pleasure of the Father to set His King in His holy mountain and reveal Him there. Why? So that His King may rule in all of His holy mountain. Not only that, but that The King may rule out from that holy mountain into all of the earth. Oh beloved, the whole issue before us is one concerning the ruling of The King. Who is reigning in the holy mountain? Me or The King? In the small matters, because they determine the large matters, who is reigning? Is there rebellion against the anointed of the Lord? Where? In the holy mountain. That's the question. You and I, because we are that mountain, because we have been gathered up in the Lord, you and I have got to face that issue. Are we preaching out from ourselves or out from The King? That's the issue. Not how much I preach, not how far I go, but Who is ruling? Me or The King? And I tell you again, travelling through the Church, dealing with Christians and with ministry, very few comprehend the King. I say again, the Lord help us. Secondly, there is always and only ONE KING! In your Bible, there are two occasions where it is translated 'he hath made us kings and priests.' But in the Greek translation it is not so. It is translated properly, "he hath made us to be a kingdom and a priesthood." There's only One King - it's The Son! He has made us to be a kingdom and He has made us to be a priesthood, but HE AND HE ALONE IS THE KING! And He and He alone is the anointed of the Father! God does not anoint things. He doesn't anoint a desk. He doesn't anoint this building. Now listen to me carefully. He doesn't anoint things. In your Bible, the anointing is always reserved for Christ. And whenever in the Bible there has been a type of the anointing, it is always connected with a type of Christ. Because Christ alone is the anointed of God! Now when God reveals His Son, what is that? HE ANOINTS HIS KING! The Holy Spirit reveals The Son in me, in you - but He reveals Him as KING. There's an anointing connected with it. A great anointing - but the anointing is not upon me - I'm the vessel - the anointing is upon HIM! He is the fulness of the vessel. But when the Father does reveal The Son, when He anoints The King, you and I live in that anointing. We live in that relationship - NOT I, BUT CHRIST WHO LIVETH IN ME. That's the true anointing - to know that - to know it. Every time we make a decision, little decisions, daily decisions - NOT I, NOT I - it's got to be that way. But you see, with most it isn't that way. It's me, making a decision, little ones, big ones, you're faced with them every day. Because the decisions you make every day determine the decisions you make in your life. They catch up with you. NOT I, BUT CHRIST WHO LIVETH IN ME! That's the anointing of The King. That's the revealing of The Son. I know, we all know the scriptures say that. Galatians 2:20 - Not I, but Christ. But my question is this. I do not question the scripture. There is no questioning of what is written. But how is it in me? How is it in you? Is The King anointed? Is The Son revealed? Is it in me - Not I, but Christ who liveth? Do I live in the anointing of The King? Do I speak in the anointing of The King, or is it me? That's the question. Dear friends, let me tell you. I can get a feeling, but the anointing belongs to Him! My feelings change - yours do too. Your feelings change, your emotions change - you know they do. One time you laugh, one time you cry - but the anointing never changes, The anointing is always the same! Because the anointing is The Son, The Son revealed in you. HE NEVER CHANGES! Conditions change, countries change. The Son never changes! In reality, in my heart, I am not in Mexico - I AM IN CHRIST with you. That's the truth. I can't be one thing in the United States and something else in Mexico. I am in Christ - always - whether it's in the United States or in Mexico or Africa. So you see, in reality I am not in Mexico, in reality I am in Him - IN CHRIST. In reality, it is not me. In reality it is Christ living in me! And I tell you, if it is not that way, then it is not the anointing. It's just me, and you'll have problems with that. Because you'll be one way in one country, and another way in another country, You'll have a problem with that. There are no borders with Christ! We put up with travelling from one country to another, but there are no borders in Christ. But I know a lot of Christians, if they ever came across the border to Mexico one time, all of the problems, all of the traffic, all of the confusion - they'd just say, "I'd never go back." How can you do that? Is it just a Church of the United States? Is it the Church of Texas? It is the Church of Mexico? No, it's the Church of Jesus Christ! And it's throughout the earth, and borders don't make any difference. I'm here today in Christ. If I were in India I would still be here today in Christ. It's got to be that way - or it's not Christ, it's just me, it's just you trying to be Christians. That's the way it is with most of the Church. The anointing of The King changes things! It's The King - His dominion is throughout the earth and throughout the heavens! Who am I to say I'll serve Him one place but not another place? How can I do that? If I do that, then it's me, it is not Christ, it is not The King. I tell you, we must come to have This Son revealed in us - it makes all the difference. NOT I - CHRIST WHO LIVETH IN ME! I can't even say that it's my body that suffers, because we're the BODY OF CHRIST! Whose Body is it? And not only that, the Bible says, "What, know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ?" I don't even have the liberty of saying it's my body that gets tired, or it's my body that suffers. Not I - but Christ who liveth in me. Corporately we are His One Body. Individually, this body is a member of Christ. It only has one purpose - and that is to give Him manifestation. Now I'll tell you friends, there's a whole lot to seeing Him as King, because His Dominion, His Spirit - the soul, the body - every last thing. Of His Dominion there is no end! Your Bible says that. When will that be done inside us? Most Christians won't do that. Most of the Church won't do that - they won't bring that right inside. And say, 'Of His Dominion there is no end.' Because in them there is an end to His Dominion. When they get tired, there's an end; when it's not convenient, there is an end; when it calls for some effort, there's an end; when it calls for some finance, there is an end. To His Dominion there is an end with most Christians because they will not bring it inside. 'Let Him have His Dominion out there. Let His Dominion be in heaven.' No - His Dominion is in you and His Dominion is in me. Why? Because that's where He is! Christ in you, Christ in me - to His Dominion there is no end. His Throne is an everlasting Throne! But I'll tell you again, most Christians don't want that. Just while it's convenient. God help us. If His Dominion goes to the end of my city, it doesn't go any farther. Sometimes it just goes to the door of my house, and it doesn't go any farther. Now let me ask you something, If I am the House of God, how does His Dominion stop with my house? We are the House, that takes precedent over anything that I have. I have a body, but more than that - I AM HIS BODY!. His Body takes preeminence, I have a house, but I AM HIS HOUSE! His House takes preeminence. I have a family, but I AM HIS FAMILY! His Family takes preeminence. And if it doesn't, then just quit now - don't be a reprobate - just quit. Just be religious and forget it. I am so fed up with Christians and their families. Jesus looked at His mother and His brothers and He said, "Who are my family? Who is my mother and my brother?" It's you, the Body of Jesus Christ! If I'm so interested in my family, then I need to bring them into His Family! I don't need to continue to make an excuse out of them. What I'm telling you is that in the Dominion of The King there are no excuses. In the Dominion of The King there are no excuses - just THE SON having His Life, having His Throne, having His expression in His people, His mountain, His House, His Family. It's got to be that way with you and I. I'll tell you again that if it's not, we might as well just quit today. You can have a religion and be done with it! I tell you, we're on important grounds when we deal with The King, because The King has Dominion, The King doesn't take a room at your house - YOU ARE HIS HOUSE! So there's One King and one anointing, God revealing His King, His Son in you and I. We become His Dominion, His Domain. We are talking about The King being anointed in you, and His anointing filling His Temple. This is a three-fold anointing - not three anointings. This is not three people, but a three-fold Person. The anointing is three-fold. It's a full anointing, a complete anointing. And I want to deal with that in the person of David, King David. King David was anointed King three times in Israel. Now he was King the first time, but Israel didn't recognize him. That's the problem. The Son of God, The Son in me - He is King. But do I recognize Him? Is He anointed, is He revealed in me? That's the question. The first time David was anointed in the house of Jesse. The first time he was God's King, but it was years before Israel recognized him. Then he was anointed a second time in Judah, and a small band recognized him. And he brought them into a wonderful fellowship - Hebron - fellowship. The Bible says, "God is faithful, who has called us into the fellowship of His Son." That's the second anointing. But he was anointed three times, and the third time he was anointed King was in Judah and all of Israel came to recognize him as being King. Full recognition - this is what the Holy Spirit is after - in me and in you and in the Church. Full recognition - three-fold anointing. Each of these anointings has a purpose and has a consequence in me. And I want us to deal with that. When God begins to reveal His Son in you, in me, it has great consequences; tremendous things take place within and without. That anointing continues to a full recognition of Him. I want you to keep in mind, I'm not talking about something outside. I'm talking about God revealing His Son in you, in me; establishing His Throne in me; exercising His Dominion in me. Why? That you and I may manifest that Dominion, that Throne and that King in all the earth! THE FIRST ANOINTING Turn with me to Psalm 2. We are dealing with the revelation of the indwelling Son. I must emphasize this term "revealed". In my opinion it is the most significant word used in the New Testament with regard to Christ. A whole book of our New Testament carries that title - The Revelation of Jesus Christ. Every one of Paul's epistles - think about this - has one emphasis - Christ revealed in you! And these letters, these epistles were written to the Church. Paul went out through the land, to the Gentiles and he declared the Living Christ! Have you noticed in Galatians 1:15,16 Paul says this, " When it pleased God to reveal His Son in me..." Why? "...that I might preach Him among the heathen." Talking about the Gentiles - they were not Jews. They were not Israel - they knew nothing about the God of Israel. They were heathen Gentiles, and yet, before he would go to them - even Gentiles who never heard of Jesus, never heard of the God of Israel, never heard of the Ten Commandments - heathen Gentiles; his gospel to the heathen Gentiles was no different than anybody else. In fact he said, until God revealed His Son in me, I can not go to the heathen - that's what he really said. God revealed His Son in me so that I might preach Him to the heathen. What I'm telling you is this - everything concerning the Apostle Paul, from who we have most of the New Testament, is based upon the reality of the Son of God being revealed in you. Not just being in you - He must be in you, or you're not born again. He must be in you, but for Him to be in me is one thing. For Him to be revealed in me is another thing. To be revealed in me is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. It doesn't just happen and then it's over. It begins and never ends. Walking in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship. The overwhelming evidence, the greatest witness of the New Testament is toward Christ being revealed in you. So I strongly urge you that you consider the words of Paul, the words of the Bible; that you consider the very theme of the Holy Spirit, and that you do not stop, in your heart, in your soul, until God has revealed His Son in you. It makes all the difference - the scripture comes alive, the book comes alive. Not just a teaching, not just doctrine, but the testimony of the Living Christ! Not off somewhere, but in you! He does me no good off somewhere. No, He is nigh, even in you! God the Father has put the testimony of Himself not on a wall, not on a stone. He has put that testimony in you - HIS LIVING WORD IN YOU! HIS LIVING WORD IS A PERSON - the Person of the Son. And only the Holy Spirit can reveal the Word of God - the Living Word of God. He's in you! So I want to emphasize the term "revealed". It is the essential, the necessary work of the Holy Spirit. In our lesson we are dealing with the word "anointing" and "revealed", and they are the same word. The Holy Spirit revealing Christ - this is the anointing at work. So this brings us to this - THE SON BEING REVEALED IN YOU AS KING! All that He is - He is the blesser, provider. But He is finally KING! We're talking about the Son being revealed as King. This is tremendously important. REVEALED IN US AS KING - that deals with the anointing. You anoint a King! Who else do you anoint? You anoint a Priest! THIS SON, AND ONLY THIS SON IS BOTH KING AND PRIEST - there is no other. There never has been any other. There has never been a King who was also a Priest. But This Son - He is King and He is Priest - as King He exercises dominion. As Priest He brings us into the very bosom of the Father. As King He exercises the Kingdom in me and through me. But as Priest He brings me into the very presence of the Most High God, and I live there! I live there! I don't come and go! I live there! I wake up at 2 o'clock in the morning, I wake up where He has brought me to be - in the presence of the Most High God, in the bosom of the Father. "I go and prepare a place for you... receive you unto myself." He has done that. "That where I am there ye may be also." "In that day you will know that I am in my Father, that you are in me and I am in you." That is our King and our Priest- He is my King. He is my Priest - HE IS GOD'S SON! It pleases the Father to reveal This Son in you and I. So we're dealing with the anointing. When He is revealed as King and Priest, we are experiencing the anointing. Your Bible says that it is the anointing that breaks the yoke of bondage. That's not referring to a feeling. That's referring to God revealing His Son in you. The King breaks every yoke of bondage and the Priest brings us into the liberty of the Spirit. And the King and the Priest are One. He makes us a Kingdom for the manifestation of Himself, for the manifestation of His increase in the earth. And He makes us a Priesthood that we may be ministers of the reconciliation. But you take Him out and nothing remains. There is no Priest aside from Him. There is no King aside from Him. There is no Priesthood and there is no Kingdom aside from Him. It is essential that The Son be revealed in you. Otherwise it's just you and I being religious, trying to do something. IT MUST BE CHRIST! I want us to look at three anointings of the King. In Psalm 2:6-7, "Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion." Why are two terms here used for Zion? Holy and mountain - to describe Zion. Zion is a mountain. In the Old Testament Zion was a natural mountain. In the New Testament Zion is a spiritual mountain. The Bible teaches that Zion is a people raised up in Christ Jesus. Hebrews tells us this, the twelfth chapter. "You are come to Mt. Zion." How do we come? In Christ Jesus! Quickened together, raised together, seated together in heavenly places in Christ. Now that must be a reality to you and I. It must be a reality - you and I must come to understand that before we are anywhere else - we are in Christ - that reality. One time, years ago in 1969 I was in India. We were establishing a Bible School in India. I had been travelling for several weeks before I came to India. I arrived in the north, and then by plane, then by car, then by walking I arrived in the jungles where I was going. There was no electricity; the running water was a stream, and it was very hot. When I got there I was exhausted. My room was 6 ft. long by 8 ft. wide with a tin roof and one window with shutters, and a door split in the middle, with a little iron cot. I would go in to lay down and it was hot. The Indian children would must clog the window up to watch me. Others would just stand in the door to watch me. I began to pray, "God, get me out of here! I don't want to be here." For two or three days it just got worse. No one knew what was wrong with me. I was sick of India and I was sick of Indians, and I just wanted to go home. I realized in my heart that something must be done. I was there to build a school, to minister to these people - and I don't want to be here. I loved the Lord - "Lord, just take me to be with you, but I don't want to stay here." I went in that room with my Bible and a little candle. I shut the window and the door and laid on the floor and I said, "Lord, I'm not leaving this room until something takes place in me." I had been preaching for some time - declaring the indwelling Christ, but there was something I did not understand. It is right here where we are reading - the reality of Mr. Zion, the reality of being in Christ. You can preach "in Christ" and not be living there. You can read it in your Bible and not understand it. You can talk about it and never really experience it - the reality of being in Christ Jesus. The reality of being quickened and raised and seated in Him in heavenly places. The reality that before I am anywhere else - I am IN HIM! That's a reality to which you and I must come. So I wrestled during the day and night - I cried and laid on the floor. The little candle only made the room hotter. I cried out in my heart, "God, get me out of this place. Do something in my heart. Get me out of this place." Over and over again. I tell you, if a helicopter had landed there, I would have gotten on it. I just exhausted myself. Somewhere in the night I fell into this Word and just laid there. You would have thought that the Lord would have felt sorry for me, and say, 'I understand how you are feeling. You're really suffering for me. And it's hot. I understand and feel sorry for you.' That isn't what the Lord said at all. The Lord said clearly, "Would you have me take you from this place?" I just got still. I thought my prayer was answered - get me out of here. Then the Spirit of the Lord spoke again. "Son, where are you?" And I started to say, in my heart, "I'm in this stinking jungle." But before I could say that, the scripture came to my mind, like someone was reading it to me. "Quickened together, raised together, seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." That filled my heart. And then the Spirit of God asked me again, "Now then, will you have me remove you from this place?" I began to cry out, "No Lord! No Lord! I dwell in Christ. Don't take me from this place." What a place! I tell you I found out what heaven was all about. I found out what being in Christ was all about. When the sun came up the next morning, I opened those shutters, I went out and hugged everybody. It was still hot, that cot was still made out of iron, but the reality of Christ, the reality of being in Him - that's the only thing that counted, and I realized that I was in India to bring those people out of India into Christ! We don't sit in Mexico here today - WE SIT HERE IN CHRIST JESUS! That's what Mt. Zion is all about. Ye are come to Mt. Zion, the city of the Living God! You are quickened together, you are raised together, you do sit together - we just need our eyes opened - that we can see where we are. And out from the reality of Zion declare the reality of Christ in all of the earth. So, Zion is called a mountain because we are caught up in Christ! Well, why the word "holy"? Because it means to be separated - not merely separated from the world, not separated from something, but separated unto something. When you came here today you left dormitories, wherever you were staying. But what was on your mind? You were coming here, upon this hill to this tabernacle. What was on your mind? It wasn't 'I'm leaving the dormitory, I'm leaving this house.' No, here's what was on your mind. 'I'm going to the tabernacle.' You were leaving some place actually, but in your heart you weren't leaving - you were going to a place. "Holy" here - the emphasis is not what we left, not being separated from something - but separated unto Mt. Zion! The important thing is not that I do not live in the world, the important thing is that I do live in Christ! The important thing isn't where I am not, but where I am! Jesus said, "I'll receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also." Listen, this is important. So many Christians have an understanding that salvation is just coming out from something - coming out from sin, coming out from bondage. And it is that, but it's so much more. I hear testimonies from Christians and even from some ministry, and all salvation is to them is coming out from something. "Well, I don't do this or that." That's wonderful, but what about where you are? Very few believers understand where we are. Most believers still think we are in Mexico or India or Africa. We look at the conditions. We see ourselves in that condition. If it's a good condition we're happy, if it's a bad condition we're sad. We see ourselves in conditions. We must come to see ourselves IN HIM! But more than that, more than seeing myself in Him, the word "Holy" says I must come to see Him! Why have we come to Mt. Zion? Why are we raised up? Why are we seated in heavenly places? That God may reveal His King there! "I have set my King in my holy mountain." He has brought us there that He may reveal His Son in me, that He may reveal His Son in you. It's not just enough even that I see myself there, I must come to see that He is there!. For that reason these two words are used - "holy" - set apart, separated, and "mountain" - hill, the high thought of God. God has brought us out. Your Bible says it this way in Colossians 1:13, "Hath delivered us from the power of darkness..." That deliverance is wonderful, but it goes on, "...and hath translated us into the kingdom of His Dear Son." Has translated us, has quickened us and raised us. He has brought us to Zion that He may reveal His King, that He may anoint Him there. Three anointings! 1 Samuel 16. Now this story involves the first thirteen verses. Here's the setting. Saul is recognized as King in Israel, but Saul is not God's King. The scriptures say Saul is the people's King. What does Saul represent? He represents the natural view, the natural understanding concerning Christ. Unfortunately, most Christians have this understanding. All of Samuel's dealings with Saul were corrective - always trying to get Saul to do right; always trying to get Saul to obey God. And Saul did great things, but he always came to a place where he disobeyed the Lord. And he always had good reason for it - but he always disobeyed. Friends, we have Christians like that today. They seem to believe the Christian life is just a series of being up and down, and up and down. They set forth the view of Saul. There was no revelation connected to Saul being King. Saul represented the outward form of things. Head and shoulders taller than anyone in Israel, magnificent in his appearance. Many today have that same concept of salvation - an outward thing, how we look outwardly, rather than inwardly, measuring success by largeness of buildings or largeness of crowd, rather than the measure of Christ inwardly. That's the view of Saul. It's a self view, it's a religious view, and it is a view that can not obey God. That's the setting. Samuel is spending all of his time dealing with Saul. Samuel represents the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Now, how does the Holy Spirit spend His time with you? Correcting, dealing with rebellion, with your stubbornness - how does He spend His time with you? Samuel was continually trying to get Saul to do right. If it wasn't' one thing it was another. How is it with you? Is the Holy Spirit continually dealing with you and I concerning our self life, continually correcting, continually convicting? Are we in a continual battle with the Holy Spirit? What to do, where to go? Many Christians live that way - my will and God's will, my wants and God's wants, my way and the Lord's way - always a wrestling match. Every time I come to pray, every time I open my Bible, the Holy Spirit has to deal with me along that line. Samuel represents the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Finally God says, 'Quit praying for Saul.' Verse 1, "And the Lord said unto Samuel, how long will you mourn for Saul seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill thy horn with oil and go. I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided me a king among his sons." The Lord has come to His end with Saul. He had come to His end with that idea of Christ. I told you about my experience in India - the Lord had come to His end with me, with my idea of Christianity, with my idea of ministry. The Lord came to His end with that concept. Saul represent a concept, an understanding of the King, and God comes to an end with that understanding. And He comes to an end of that understanding in me. And at that time, the Holy Spirit just has one dealing left - to reveal the King, to reveal THE SON! I'm telling you that if you want to progress with the Lord, He will bring you to this very situation. Saul, the concept that he represents must be rejected, and the Holy Spirit must have liberty to reveal God's King. Also notice, what did he tell Samuel to do? "Fill your horn with oil." The anointing is about to take place! Get a hold of this. There is no anointing connected with Saul. Samuel found Saul on the side of the road, and he had a little vial of oil. There was no horn of oil poured upon him. Saul was never anointed of God as King. God does not recognize that concept - the concept of self. THE ONLY KING, THE ONLY UNDERSTANDING THAT GOD RECOGNIZES IS HIS SON! HE IS THE ONLY KING HE WILL ANOINT! Listen, I've tried to get God to anoint something that I did - my concept, my understanding - and the Lord won't anoint it. I can get excited about it, spend a lot of time with it. I've done that - only to find out that there's no real increase of Christ there. Something has been done - it may look successful - Saul looked successful. He looks like a King, he acts like a King, but Saul is full of himself. God's King is His Son! And sooner or later, if you go on with the Lord, the Father is going to speak to the Holy Spirit - 'You go down there to Jesse's house. You go down there and you reveal My King. Take the full horn, fill it up with oil, and pour every bit of it on the head of My Son!' Glory to God! He doesn't pour the oil on Jesse's house, he pours the oil on THE SON IN JESSE'S HOUSE! He doesn't pour the oil on me, he pours the oil on THE SON IN ME! HE REVEALS THE HIDDEN SON! Where was David? He was hidden. He was out tending sheep. Jesse had seven other sons - they all ran out one by one. The largest ran out first. He looked a lot like Saul. He was big, grand, and he ran out to be anointed. One by one by one by one - all seven sons were sent out there to be anointed, That's the way we do. We give God our best. I looked up these names of these sons - and they are great definitions of these sons, wonderful names. That's the way we are. We give God our best and we want Him to anoint it. Now listen very carefully. Most Christians do this. We give Him our best - but our best is less than Christ. I don't mean that we shouldn't do our best for the Lord. He doesn't want the best of myself - HE WANTS THE MINISTRY OF HIS SON! That's all He wants. Jesse sent out his best. Verse 7 and 8, "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance nor the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord seeth not as man seeth. Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks upon the heart." Verse 10, "And again Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, the Lord hath not chosen these." Here's the issue, the issue with the Lord. It's not what's big or little. The outward appearance doesn't bother God - it doesn't matter - black, brown or yellow. None of that exists in Christ. There are no "Anglos" in Christ, no male or female, it's not the countenance. That doesn't count. What is the issue with the Lord? It's not what's good or what's bad. With many of us that's what it is - what I think is good, what I think is bad. That's not the issue with the Lord. The Lord hath not CHOSEN - it's not what's good, it's not what's bad - it's what the Lord has chosen. And the Lord has only chosen ONE to be King! HE HATH CHOSEN THE SON! It's the Son who is chosen! There wasn't anything wrong with those boys - they just weren't David. What was wrong with Ishmael? He wasn't Isaac - that's all. God chose Isaac. God chose David. God chooses His Son. The issue is not what's wrong with something. The issue is whether it is The Son or not. The issue is not whether I'm a good preacher or a bad preacher. The issue is whether I preach The Son or not! That's the only issue. And you can't preach The Son unless The Son is revealed in you. Only the Father knows the Son. Samuel did not know who to anoint until the Father said - "This is the one." Verse 12, " And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and withal a beautiful countenance and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him, for this is he." Jesus Himself said "no man knoweth the Son but the Father, and no man knoweth the Father but the Son, and those to whom the Son will reveal Him." Only the Father can look right through you and I and see The Son. His view doesn't stop with me, it doesn't stop with my color, it doesn't stop with my talent, it doesn't stop with my clothes, it doesn't stop with my language. He looks right down through me - and He sees The Son. And He reveals The Son! He's the King! " Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brethren." He is always revealed in the midst. Saul was recognized on the side of the road, but the Son is revealed in the midst - He's revealed in you! What am I saying? The Son is not revealed out here in something. The Son is revealed in you! He's revealed in the midst. "Where I am there you are also. Where you are, there I am also." When God reveals This Son, He'll reveal Him in the midst - not far off - in the midst of you! "And the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward." The revelation of Jesus Christ must begin, must take place, that anointing must take place in you at a time chosen of the Father - but it never ceases. From that day forward, The Son is King! From that day forward, The Son continues to be revealed. And from that day on, you and I in whom He's revealed, live under His anointing! AMEN. THE SECOND ANOINTING Let's continue. 1 Chronicles 12. We move on to the second anointing of David. I want you to understand what we're talking about when we say first and second and third anointing. We're talking about an ongoing revealing of Christ - ever expanding, filling up the very heart and soul of the believer. Here Israel is the type, and the knowledge that David is King is beginning to fill up all of Israel. First it filled up a household - it filled up Jesse's house. Jesse and that whole household came to understand that David was King. Every part of the household of God must come to that same understanding. You and I make up the household of God. Every house in that great household must come to know that David is King. So that the first anointing primarily has to do with God revealing His Son in you, every individual household. The seven sons of my household must come to be rejected, and The One Son must be exalted. Not my goodness, but The Son Himself being revealed. Not even my talents, not my good points - The Son Himself coming to be revealed. This is the first anointing. Now it just begins to enlarge and we come to this second anointing. 1 Chronicles 12. Now let's talk about the setting. David has fled from Saul. The old concept is waging war against the new concept. Saul is trying to kill David. That's the way it always is. When God reveals His Son everything that would be King comes against the True King; religious concepts come against the reality of Christ. Let's talk about that. We all have our idea about righteousness. We have our religious concept as to what righteousness is. "I'm a preacher of righteousness." What do you preach? "I preach you can't eat this and you can't drink this, and you can't wear this and you can't go there." Well, that's a concept of righteousness, but it's not Christ! Listen, you could wear a white robe from your head to the bottom of your feet; you could eat nothing but fish and drink nothing but water; and still not be righteous. Righteousness is a thing of the heart. God looks on the heart - we read that. And when God looks on the heart, what is He looking for? He is looking into the midst, as to whether it is His Son or not! Our concepts of righteousness war against the true righteousness of God, because my concepts of righteousness make me righteous. But true righteousness is the Lord - the nature and the character of Christ being formed in me. So I tell you, the old concepts will come against the reality of Christ - old traditions will come against the reality of Christ. You may not know this, but many places throughout the Church, ministry would rather preach on old concepts than preach Christ. They would rather keep Christians in bondage to old concepts than bring them into the liberty of Christ. Look at Paul. He goes out to the Gentiles. Gentiles knew nothing about the Law, knew nothing about the God of Israel, but they were born again by the Spirit of God. And Paul began to preach to them that Christ was their life, Christ was their righteousness. Here come some Christian brothers from the Church at Jerusalem, and they began to tell the Gentiles - 'Well, Paul's all right, and he's preaching Jesus, and it's true that Jesus is your Savior, but you must be circumcised also. In order to be a true Jew, a true Christian, you must be circumcised.' That's the reason the book of Galatians was written. Paul asked those Christians, "Who hath bewitched you? Who has led you astray? You started out understanding Christ is your life, Christ is your righteousness. But now you are seeking perfection in the flesh. Now you're going back to circumcision. If you do one part of the Law you have to do all of the Law." But you see, we've brought our version of the Law over into the Church today. 'Well, you've got to look like this.' What if I told all of you today, if you don't have on a striped tie - you're not holy. You've got to have a tie on, and it's got to look just like this. This is righteousness. But we do things just like that - little circumcisions. And the real problem is not that we want to dress nice, that's not the problem. The problem is when we make it righteous. The problem is not wearing a tie, the problem is to say this is righteousness. The old concepts - we've brought them over into Christianity, and there are many under those bondages. And if you would dare to say No, that is not so, Christ is our righteousness, they would look at you and say you are a sinner. That's what these brethren from Jerusalem were telling these Christians. Even the Apostle Paul got caught up in that. Paul had to tell him, 'if the Law doesn't make you righteous, how can it make these people righteous? If you being a Jew don't keep the Law, why are you trying to bring these under the bondage?' Saul, the concept of self righteousness, self importance, was waging war against God's True King - the Indwelling Christ. And I want to warn you about this. There is a right conduct, there is a wrong conduct, but our righteousness is Christ Himself! It's not what I do or what I don't do, because you can act righteous, but Christ is righteousness. Righteousness is a nature, a character, a condition of the heart. Here is where He must be anointed King! So the second anointing here - David was an outcast in Israel! Can you believe that? Israel's True King was an outcast. He had to leave Israel and find refuge in the land of the Philistines. He was at a place here called Ziklag - outside of the borders of Israel. That's unbelievable - Israel's True King an outcast. But I'll tell you that condition is in the Church today. Christ Himself, the Person of Christ has become an outcast. Religious concepts have become King, man's understanding has become King, religious doctrines have divided the Church, destroyed the power of the Church. The revelation of Jesus Christ in many places is unknown. We say salvation, but we have no real understanding of the Savior. We say heaven, but we have no real understanding of union with Christ. We say Christians - we preach these things, but we have no real understanding of the Indwelling Christ. That's the setting here. God's anointed King has been run out of the country. Man's King is ruling. That's the condition. Now what happens? Verse 1, "Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, keepers of the war." I want you to notice something. We're talking about men began to come out unto David. Hearts began to be drawn to God's True Anointed King. This whole chapter is about that. One by one they began to come. Some from this tribe, some from another tribe, some from Saul's own household. Hearts began to come to the True, hearts began to be drawn to the revelation of the King. They didn't come out to a concept. They came to a man - a person - a King. I want to tell you our salvation is not a concept, our salvation is a Person. HE LIVES IN YOU! We are not preachers of a concept. We are not ministers of a religion. We are ambassadors of the King! Christ Himself is our Life! My heart is not drawn to a concept, my heart is drawn to the reality of The Man, the reality of the Indwelling Christ! I want you to notice as you read - these were mighty men. They were warriors. They could use the right hand or the left hand. They could keep rank, they worked together - they were not rebels. "Now these are they that came to David." These men came out of every tribe in Israel, later on the tribes are mentioned. But remember when I told you about when you left the dormitory, it wasn't in your heart 'I'm leaving the dormitory.' It was in your heart, 'I'm going to the chapel.' You left the dorm - where you came from is not important. Where you came to is important. There is something about these men here. There's a definition. They had something in common; they are all called the same thing. And yet they came out of different tribes. But in this first verse they have one thing in common, one thing that identifies them. These are they ... What is the identifying factor? What do they have in common? These are they who came to David. That's what they had in common. Not where they came from, but The One to whom they came! There is something that each of us must come to have in common - the knowledge of the King. OUR HEARTS MUST BE DRAWN TO THE KING! That's the thing that binds us together. Not a concept, not some doctrine, but the revealing of the King. Every one of these men came to David! They didn't come out together - one from here, one from there. What they had in common was not where they came from. What they had in common was who they came to. Also notice, they didn't first come to a place - they first came of a MAN! What we have in common today is not that we are all in Monterrey, not that we are all here in this building - it's not the place. It's the Person! Not that we all speak Spanish or English - it's the Person that we have in common. Our hearts have to be drawn out to the Person. If you have come a Person and I have come to a place, we are not in common. But if we've come to a Person - we are. And here's the sad thing about that. Every place I go, whether I'm speaking to three or three hundred, it doesn't make any difference, I know it by the Spirit of God. Wherever I go I know that some have come to the place, to the building, to the house - other have come to The Son. I know that. We all look like we have something in common. We're all sitting in the same room - but that's not what we have in common. We have to have come to The Son. It's written that way. They did not come to Ziklag to find David. They came to David to Ziklag. It's written that way for a purpose. They came to David. Our hearts have to be drawn to the revelation of Jesus Christ. That's what binds us together - not the building, not the place. We have to be bound up in the revelation of the King! These men were drawn out unto the anointing! He had nothing to give them but HIMSELF! Do you know where he was dwelling? He was dwelling in a cave - not in a palace. They didn't come out for a palace - they came out because they loved the King. They came out unto the anointing of David - they recognized David is King. And in the Church today, one by one, hearts are turning from the concepts to the revelation of the King! And those in whom The Son is revealed are being bound together in the knowledge of the King. Nationality won't bind us, location won't bind us - but the revelation of Jesus Christ binds us together. "THESE ARE THEY WHO CAME TO DAVID." Wouldn't it be wonderful if that's how we were known? Not as Anglos or Mexicans, whatever nationality. Who are these people? They are Anglos. They are Mexicans. They are Baptists. They are Pentecostals. Who are these people? These are they in whom The Son is revealed! These are they bound up in the knowledge of the King! Regardless of nationality, regardless of religious background - these are they who have come to the King! They have left the concept of religion and they have come to the knowledge of The Son. They've left everything. They've forsaken everything. They have gone out from it. But that's not what they've considered - they considered not what they left, but only Him to whom they have come! These are not they who have left Saul - these are they who have come to David. We don't need a bunch of rebels. We need those who are in love with the King! We don't need you here because you are mad at somebody else. I spend all my time in the Church. I'm in one church and I see these believers, next time I'm in another church - wait a minute, I saw you over here. 'Well, I got mad over there. Now I'm over here.' Somebody should tell them, go back over there until you get happy - then come over here. Otherwise get away from here - we don't need a church full of rebels. If you're not here because you are drawn to the revelation of Christ, then you are here in rebellion; you're here running from something. You are here because you don't like Saul. These men were there because they were in love with David. Saul has a warfare with David. David has no warfare with Saul. The Indwelling Christ has no warfare - He is in peace! They didn't come to David because they were mad at Saul. Had they done so, they would have gotten mad at David. I'm telling you the truth - I have enough history with the Church to know what I'm talking about. That's not what God is doing. God is not gathering rebels. You rebel against authority one place, you're going to rebel against authority any place. That's just an excuse, friends. That's an excuse people have - you haven't gained anything when you allow that. It'll turn around and bite you - every time. I'd rather have three people in a building who are drawn there to know Him, than to have three hundred who are mad at somebody. Because they are just going to get mad at me, they are going to go someplace else and "bless" some other brother. I'm trying to be practical with you. I'm telling you what this second anointing does. It begins to draw you together with those in whom Christ is being revealed, it begins to bind the Body of Jesus Christ - not with ties of tradition, but with the binding of the knowledge of the Lord! Look at these men. Read about them. These men will lay down their life for him. These men will not be separated. They did not come to one another. Each of them came to David. They found one another in David. Their love for one another was their love for David. And they were bound up in their love for the King. And that's the only thing that is going to bind up the Body of Jesus Christ! I see people trying to have fellowship, trying to be bound together, and they are trying to be bound together by something that neither of them like. That doesn't work. 'I don't like this. I don't like it either. Let's find somebody else that doesn't like it and let's get together and not like it together.' That's what happens today. There is no love there, no commitment there. You're never going to get that kind of people committed to anything. The only thing they are committed to is being mad at somebody, and unfortunately the Church is full of that. Pastors have to deal with that. Sometimes the Pastors are just as bad. This is not what these men are. They are not mad at anybody, not rebelling against anybody. They are just coming out to David. They are willing to be an outcast with David. They are willing to leave everything for David. It doesn't make any difference where David is - that's where I'm going. I'm telling you, the Holy Spirit is gathering believers together, He's gathering ministry together in the revelation of Jesus Christ! There is no division there. The only one important in that gathering was THE KING! I want you to see the progression. First The Son is revealed in you. That's no small thing. You'll never experience the second anointing until you experience the first. First He's revealed in me. The seven sons of my house are rejected. The One Son is exalted. Then the King begins to draw - not rebels, mighty men. Not rebels - men who are mighty in spiritual warfare; not complainers, not moaners, not gripers, not uncommitted people. My Lord, the Church is full of uncommitted people. The condition of the Church is unbelievable. "Oh, I love Jesus", but they won't commit themselves to anything. To them Jesus must be off somewhere in a cloud, rather than the Indwelling Son. No commitment to the Body of Jesus Christ. Tell me something, how can I be committed to Jesus and not be committed to His Body? How is that possible? He dwells in His Body. He is anointed in His Body. He is revealed in me. How is it I say I love Him, I am committed to Him, and not be committed to His Body? It's impossible. Yet the Church is full of that. What's the answer? Preaching against it? That's not the answer. The answer is the King being revealed - when the Church comes to realize we are the Body of the King. When the Body of Christ ceases to be me and you, but the Body is Christ Himself in you and in me - that's the answer. I'm telling you those that came to David were mighty in Spirit and in Truth, and those who are being drawn together in the revelation of Jesus Christ - they are not rebels - they are those in whom Christ is revealed, they are mighty in Spirit and in Truth. They are not lazy people, uncommitted people. Read it - they were mighty. Who will come out to the King? Those who are mighty in Spirit and in Truth! Not the murmurers and the gripers and the lazy - they will never come. Those who have a heart for the King, those who will leave everything for the King! Forsake everything for the King. They will be found together. All of that is in the first two verses. Let me mention another important thing. Where was David? At Ziklag. Where in Ziklag? He was in a cave. What is that a symbol of? Because all of this is a spiritual symbol of a reality in Christ. David was in a cave. What is a cave used for throughout the Bible? You bury people in a cave. The Lord Jesus was buried in a cave, not a hole in the ground. He was buried in a cave. Here's the type of it. The second anointing, the ever enlarging revealing of the King brings us unto Him, in our hearts, draws us unto Him. Where do we find Him? In a grave! We mean we are drawn to Him in His death. The whole setting says that - put out of Israel, outside the gates of the city, in the land of the Philistines - in a cave. Not a pleasant place to go. Why would we go there? Because the King is there! What do we bring there with us? I bring my tribe, my nationality, my name, my office, my talents - everything that I am. I bring it to the cave. I lay it down at the feet of the King. I come to know Him in His death, that I may know Him in the fulness of His life! Look in Ephesians 2, verse 14-18. "For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;" He hath broken down the wall of partition between us. What is happening in our story in Ziklag? These men are being drawn to the King. The wall of partition between them is being done away. One from this tribe, another from this tribe. But when they come to David at Ziklag they are not known by their tribes, they are known only by David! That's where this is going. The end of the second anointing is you and I only having our identity in the King! And if we have our identity in the King, then we have the same identity. I haven't found it in you, you haven't found it in me. We have found it in Him! Broken down the middle wall of partition. He is our peace. We are at peace with one another. As long as there is two, there is no peace. Only when there is one, is there peace. I must be done away, you must be done away - and He only must remain! That's what happened with David at Ziklag. Chapter 12 tells us that. They came to David, they knelt down to David, out of every tribe and they said this, "Oh David, thou son of Jesse, WE ARE THINE, bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh." That's how we must know Him. Not me, not you - just Him! Verse 15. "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace." How does He make one? By abolishing two! Listen to me. When He brings us to the cross, to the grave, when we are united with Him in His death, He abolishes the Jew and the Gentile, the Anglo and the Mexican, the white and the black. He does away with them and He brings forth One New Man. Who is the New Man? THE SON HIMSELF! THE LORD HIMSELF! He is The New Man! We are His Body! He does not have two Bodies. One Body, One Son! How does He do that? He abolishes both the Jew and the Gentile, both you and me. Verse 16, " And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby." Listen carefully, this is very important. How does He take a Jew and a Gentile, Anglo and Mexican, and make one body out of them? In His death. By the cross! When are you and I one body? At the cross! We are the dead body! When is the male and the female one? The Jew and the Gentile - when are they one? When they are dead! By the cross! These men came to what? They came to the cave, the symbol. THEY WERE MADE ONE AT THE CAVE! They said, "David, we are thine." When were they one? When they themselves were no more and David remained. They found their identity not in themselves or in one another, but in David! We don't all become Jews and we don't all become Gentiles. No - the Jew and the Gentile is done away. When are we one? When we die! So that the Body of Christ is not a mixture of Jew and Gentile. No - that's the body of His death. The body of His death is a Jew and a Gentile. But His Living Body is not Jew or Gentile - HIS LIVING BODY IS HIM! Christ Himself living in you, living in me! Now I don't want to be misunderstood. But according to what we've just seen, a good white man is a dead one. How does He make peace? He takes the two elements of warfare and He brings them both to death. And He comes forth in newness of Life! Not two men, but One New Man. This is the second anointing. When you and I come to realize it is not me in any way, it is Christ who lives in me. A New Body comes forth in the realization of The Son. This is taking place today, believers are being drawn together. Ministry is being brought to the cross, brought to the grave, where we die, and Christ remains! It's not my ministry, not your ministry - it's Christ ministering. No divisions there, there is fellowship there. What did David do with those men? He took them from Ziklag, he brought them from the place of death to the place of fellowship - Hebron means fellowship. " God is faithful, who has called us unto the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ the Lord." But a Jew can not have fellowship with a Gentile. No - the fellowship comes when I die, you die and He lives! Then we have fellowship that is eternal and everlasting. May you and I know such a fellowship, and may such a fellowship fill up the earth to the glory of God. May The King be anointed! The third anointing is a result of these first two. Finally in 2 Samuel 5, all of Israel come to David. I want to tell you something. When God reveals His Son in you, the joy of that is just this - you know that all of Israel must come to know Him that way. And when the Lord begins to bring some together in the knowledge of Christ, it's not to separate them from the Church, it is so that He may minister to the Church until every believer is gathered up in the revelation of Jesus Christ. The third anointing, when all of Israel came, David took them to Mt. Zion. You are come to Mt. Zion! And for the very first time, all of Israel was known as The City of the King! Who are you? The City of the King! This is where the Spirit of the Lord is taking us - not just to reveal The Son in me, but to reveal The Son in each of us, draw us together in a ministry, in a fellowship. Why? That the whole Church be drawn together in such an understanding, that God may have a city where the King is made manifest! It's an ongoing work of the Spirit, but it has to start in you, in me. We want to deal with the Throne - the King establishing His Throne in my soul, dealing with the mind, the will and the emotions, bringing my soul under His dominion; renewing the spirit of our minds, whereby we are clothed upon in the very fulness of Jesus Christ! May the Lord deal with us by His Spirit. AMEN! THE PRIEST We have been talking about the work of the Holy Spirit in you revealing the King, the King establishing His Throne, and out from that the King having His expression, having His dominion and expression. The Kingdom of God - the Kingdom of God is in you. The Kingdom of God is an expressing thing. So we're talking about the work of the Holy Spirit in you and me. And this work has to do with Him revealing The Son in one realm after another realm. We've been dealing with the King, The Son who is in you. I mentioned before that Our King is also High Priest, and when we deal with the King or the Priest we are dealing with the word "anointing". The King is anointed and the Priest is anointed. We are going to deal with the Throne, but I must just say a few words about the Priest. You see it is THE PERSON that is important here. It is the Person of Christ that is important here. You can not really talk about His Throne, His authority until we know Him. Someone you do not know has very little authority in your life. Isn't that true? The more you know a person, the more authority they have. We tend to be more obedient to those that we know. For instance, the Bible says we should know those who minister among us, because they have authority over us. Well, until you and I come to know the King in a very personal way, He really has no authority in us. It remains to be "our life". I know very many Christians and ministers who say 'I love Jesus' and 'I'm a Christian', but the King has very little authority. When it comes right down to the bottom line, it's still their life, their ministry. So before we talk about the Throne, because the Throne is not some thing; the Throne is not a chair - the Throne is the authority of the King. So before we talk about the authority of the King, let's spend more time on the Person of the King. I want you to see - our salvation is a Person! - not a concept. He's not just Savior, He is Salvation! He is made unto us righteousness, sanctification, redemption. OUR SALVATION IS A PERSON. Our salvation is a Living Person - not a historical person, not a futuristic person - a Living Person. And that Living Person lives in you! Our salvation is in us. So we're not dealing with concepts, with religions. We are dealing with a Person. We are not the Body of a concept, we're not the Body of a religion or a doctrine - we are the Body of a Person. THE LIVING BODY OF THE LIVING CHRIST! And as His Living Body, we must have a living understanding of Him. I want you to know that. We're involved with a Person - HE IS NOT FAR OFF. HE IS IN YOU! The pleasure of our Father is to reveal in us this very Living Son. He is King! He is Priest! Hebrews 7:11, "If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?" Now two things here. The order of Aaron is a natural order. It loves God, serves God, but it does not have an understanding of God. It is not a spiritual order. It is a natural order. You can try to serve God in that way. You can have a natural love for God. You can seek to serve Him naturally. But the natural man can not receive the things of the Spirit of God. We can know Him by the flesh, but we must know Him by the Spirit. The order of Aaron is a natural order. That order knows by what it sees, what it tastes, touches or smells - the sense realm, the temporal realm. That's the order of Aaron. But the order of Melchisedec is the order of the Spirit. It is not a natural realm. You can not understand this order by the natural mind. You can not see this order with the natural eye. This order must be revealed by the Holy Spirit. But our Priest is not an order, our Priest is not just a spiritual order of things, our Priest is a spiritual being. Our Priest is a Person, but He can only be known by the Spirit. Even in the Spirit, we do not serve just an order. I don't serve a natural order, and I don't serve a spiritual order - we serve a Person, and that Person is a Priest, after the order of the Spirit. If you take away the Person, you don't really have a spiritual order, because the Person of the Priest fulfills the spiritual order. And He's the only One who does. I'm saying that I don't serve spiritual things, I serve a spiritual Lord! And everything of the Spirit identifies with Him. All spiritual things identify with Him. So I'm not just serving a spiritual order - No - The Living Christ, and He Himself fulfills the order of the Spirit. Aaron was not an order, Aaron was a man, He fulfilled an order. Christ is not an order, He is a man, spiritual man, Living Christ. And He fulfills an order. We are not after an order, but the One who fulfills that order! Christ Himself is the order of Melchisedec. Christ Himself is the order of the Spirit. When Christ is revealed in me, the order of the Spirit is set in place. But I can not have the order of the Spirit unless Christ is revealed in me. I do not fulfil that order - He fulfills that order. We must understand that because there are many who preach a spiritual order, but not Christ. They preach themselves. God help that we never do that. "We preach not ourselves, but Jesus Christ the Lord." There are many who seem to be spiritual, seem to be something with God, and they preach great spiritual orders. But it always comes back to themselves - what I am. No - the reality of our salvation is who HE IS! We're not preaching a spiritual order - we're presenting a Living Christ. He fulfills the spiritual order. Our High Priest fulfills all of the order of the Spirit. Now verse 15 through 17. "And it is yet far more evident; for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. For he testifieth, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec." This Priest that we have is a minister of LIFE, endless Life. He is forever a minister of Eternal Life! And this Priest dwells in me and in you. And His purpose is the ministry of Life. He is not the minister of commandments, He is not the minister of concepts, He is the minister of Eternal Life. He lives in you, and you and I live by Him. Life is not a concept, LIFE IS A PERSON! And He causes you and I to be ministers of Life - not ministers of concepts, but ministers of Eternal Life! Who is this Priest? Verse 21. This is speaking of the priests of Aaron. "(For those priests were made without an oath, but this with an oath by him that said unto him, the Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament." Our Priest is the only Priest who has received the oath of office. No man made Him a Priest - His Priesthood is higher. He was declared to be a Priest by an oath, by a testimony - the testimony of God the Father. It is the Father Himself who says concerning This Son - "Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten thee." And furthermore, to The Son He said, "Thou art a Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec." It is This Son whom The Father reveals. It is This Son who The Father anoints, and it is This Son of whom The Father speaks. I tell you, it is The Father's good pleasure to reveal His Son in you - as King and as Priest! Not two persons - ONE SON - who is both King and He is Priest. We must understand this to understand the Throne, because not only does He sit on the Throne as King, the Bible says He sits of the Throne as Priest. There has never been a King like Him, there has never been a Priest like Him. A greater than David is come! A greater than Solomon is come! A greater than Aaron is come! A greater than Melchisedec is come - and HE LIVES IN YOU! HE IS COME IN YOU! A GREATER THAN DAVID IS IN YOU! He is not historical. He is the fulfillment of everything spiritual, and He lives in you. To exercise in you His dominion and His Eternal Life. To exercise in you His Kingship and His Priesthood. To make us a Kingdom and a Priesthood. He does not make us Kings and Priests - that's a mistranslation. He makes us a Kingdom and a Priesthood. We become the very manifestation of Him. That's what ministry is all about. Ministry is not about me, and not about you - ministry is about Him in you - He having His manifestation - the Priest having His ministry. Where? In me, and through me, but it is always Him. Always. Verse 25, speaking of Christ, The One who is in you. "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that cometh unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." In the Greek translation there are two words here that we must understand properly. "Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost..." The Word "save" and the word "uttermost" - perpetually. We are saying that our Prist is continually working in us to the uttermost, to bring about a completion. Notice verse 11, "If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood..." The term "perfection" here means a completion, fully grown up - the fulness of Christ being worked in you. The Levitical priesthood couldn't perform that. Only One Priesthood could perform that, and that's Christ in you! Paul's prayer for the Church is just this - "I'm praying for you until Christ be formed in you." That's what this is saying. He is able to save perpetually. What is the end of that? The FULNESS OF HIMSELF! Until He is fully formed in you - full dominion, full power, fulness of Life! What a Priest we have! He is ever working in us! Let me read something to you. Ephesians 3:20. Notice this very carefully. What I want us to understand is Our Priest is not far off - Our Priest is in us, working in us, to accomplish full Spiritual Life, working in us to accomplish in us His fulness! Look at this verse. "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." According to the power that worketh in us - His working is in you, and He is able to do far beyond anything I can even ask! According to the power working in me. Get a hold of this - it is not far off. HE IS IN YOU! Working in you, not just working on you, working in you. It all comes from the inside out. Now the order of Aaron tries to come from the outside in. Well, that won't work. The only way that can work is if the Priest is out here. No - the Priest is inside you - working from the inside out. But most of the Church is under the concept of Aaron, trying to know Him from the outside, and that will never work, trying to know Him by the senses, by the physical. I do not know Him by the natural. I don't know Him by this body. I serve Him with this body. I know Him in Spirit. But many believers want to know Him by the body and serve Him in Spirit, and they do nothing. They just say, "Oh, how I love Jesus". He worketh in you! Now also Colossians 1:26. Paul is speaking here to the Church, and he's actually dealing with the same thing we are dealing with. "Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints." What mystery? Aaron's order pointed to another priesthood. Aaron's order was not a mystery, but it spoke of a mystery. It spoke of another Priesthood, it spoke of another Priest to come. The Priest that is to come was a mystery. You see, the Israelites could see the tabernacle, but they could not see the Body of Christ that the tabernacle pointed to. The Body of Christ is a mystery. You and I can see one another, but we can not really see the Body of Christ. We are the Lord's Body, but only by the Spirit can we truly know that. I look at you and I see men and women, but by the Spirit we see the Lord's Body. The Lord's Body is a mystery. It can not be understood by the flesh and blood - it must be understood by the Spirit. There is a Priest and a Priesthood who is a mystery, hidden from generations, hidden from ages - but now to be revealed. Who is this mystery? Verse 27 tells us. "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the expectation of glory." Listen, the foundation of the mystery, the Person, the center of the mystery is not a thing, but a Living Person! I said that the Church was a mystery. Who is the center of that mystery? When do we come to comprehend the mystery of the Church? When do we understand we are the Body of Christ? When the Person of Christ is revealed in us! So you see the mystery is not really the Church, the mystery is The Person. When The Person is revealed, we understand the Church. When The Person is revealed, we understand we are His Body! WE ARE HIS BODY! That's what makes it different. The Church is not just a spiritual body. It's more than that - it's HIS BODY, The Body of Jesus Christ! Why do I emphasize this so much? Because it's a mystery that we only truly understand when He is revealed in us. We can read in the scripture, "We're the Body of Christ". We say, okay, let's go live like the Body of Christ. It won't work like that. That's the Aaron concept, learning by the flesh, the outside concept. My natural mind trying to lay hold of a spiritual reality, and I want to make it work. I want to live like His Body, but I can't do it, because it's a mystery. God has it all locked up in the Person of His Son! He's not after just some spiritual body, God is after the Body of His Own Son! Why? Because God is after the manifestation and the glory of His Son! The Son is purposed to the Body. Without The Son the Body has no real purpose. Why? Because the Body is to function as The Son! Is it not that way in the natural? Does not my natural body function like me? Should my body function like you? No. Should the Lord's Body function like me? The Lord's Body should function as The Lord! And there is the mystery. Until He is revealed in us, we will function like ourselves. But when He is revealed and works in us, His Body functions as Himself! This is the mystery that Paul declared to the Gentiles - CHRIST IN YOU. Look at this. We're talking about Him working in us. Verse 28 and 29, "Whom we preach (this Indwelling Christ), warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man full grown in Christ Jesus." But how do you and I come to be full grown in Christ? The next verse tells us. Paul says when I pray for you, I pray for me. I'm striving for the same thing. "Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." How am I striving? What is my striving? TO KNOW HIM! That He may be revealed in me, according to His working with worketh where? IN ME! How? MIGHTILY! Beloved, our High Priest is able to save us to the uttermost by His mighty working that worketh in me. He forever liveth! He forever worketh! To make intercession for us. That's the other word I want to look at. Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." But the better translation says this, "... seeing he ever liveth to make intercession IN them." Where does He intercede? IN YOU! Where is He ever working? IN YOU! He's not off somewhere praying for you. He is making intercession IN YOU! He ever liveth and He ever liveth in you. He is ever interceding. He is ever cleansing, ever washing, ever working in you. OUR HIGH PRIEST LIVETH IN US! And He maketh us what? If the High Priest is in us, He maketh us to be the sanctuary, He maketh us to be the Temple, He maketh us to be the Holy of Holies. If the High Priest dwelleth in you, you're the sanctuary, and He ever liveth to fill the sanctuary with the glory of Himself! That's what the writer of Hebrews says. Look at Chapter 8:1,2. "Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum. We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens." Ephesians 1:17-23 says the same thing. He is raised, He is seated, He is above. But Ephesians 2:4, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins hath quickened us together with Christ ... and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Now Hebrews 8:2, " A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man." What are we saying? When the Father raised up The Son, caused The Son to sit in the heavens, by that same Son, He hath raised us up - a sanctuary, a true tabernacle, which God made, not man. You are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus! If He is the High Priest, you are the sanctuary. If He is the true minister, you are the true tabernacle. We have a High Priest who lives in us, ministers in us, works in us His very fulness. The old order had this - the old order had a tabernacle, the old order had a Prist. The order of the Spirit has a tabernacle, and the order of the Spirit has a Priest. And the Priest is The Son of God and you are the Tabernacle! And He ever liveth, He ever worketh in you - filling you with His fulness! That you and I might manifest Him in all the earth. A Living Tabernacle, a Living Priest! He hath made us - Our King and Our Priest! One more thing. We must see what the scripture is declaring. The Priest and His Tabernacle are ONE. One mystery. But you can't understand the Tabernacle that we are until the Priest is revealed. Because we are not an empty Tabernacle. The Priest ever liveth in His Tabernacle. It is out of His Tabernacle that His ministries go; out from His Tabernacle that His graces flow; out from His Tabernacle that His glory shall be established in all the earth! His Tabernacle is a living Tabernacle because He is a Living Priest! He is not separated from His Tabernacle. He and His Tabernacle are ONE! Now with that in mind, Chapter 9:11, "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation." Christ, a High Priest, ever living, a High Priest of good things to come. How does He minister? How shall He minster in ages yet to come? By His Tabernacle, a more perfect Tabernacle. Not like Aaron - no, a Living Tabernacle, His Living Body! How does our High Priest have ministry? Through His Tabernacle. The Tabernacle that is not of this creation - a New Creation. For ye are a New Creation! "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation." But it gets better. Verse 24. How does God see you and I? Does He look at my body and see a white man, a Mexican? Is this how I stand in the presence of God? Or does He look even a little deeper and see the soul? No, our Father in order to see us, in order to know us, looks all the way to The Son! He sees The Son, and He accepts you and I. He sees the Priest and He accepts the Tabernacle. He sees The Son and He receives you and I in the Person of The Son. That's what this verse says, "For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us." Contrary to what many would assume, a good translation of this verse will cause us to understand. This verse is not saying He is one place and we are another. He has entered into a spiritual realm, a heavenly realm, a new creation realm. But by Him we have entered into that same realm. Where He is, we are! He has said that, "You will know that I am in my Father, you are in me, and I am in you." "I will receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also." This verse is not saying He is one place and we are another. This verse says that He is in the presence of God and He is appearing there for us. That means that God sees Him for us - God sees Him and accepts us! He's not separate from us, but He is our Life. We are His Body, His Tabernacle. THE FATHER SEES THE SON AND RECEIVES US! He appears in the presence of God for us. It's like this - the Father sees The Head, and He accepts the whole Body! He looks at The Head and He sees the whole Body! What a salvation! What a King! What a Priest! He hath brought us into the very presence of God, into the very heaven of heavens, into the very reality of Life! OUR KING AND OUR PRIEST. This is The Son who is in us! AMEN. THE THRONE Now we will deal with The Throne. The Throne has to do with the authority of the King. The Throne is defined and measured by the One who sits on it. The Throne is not some big chair that is empty. Most Christians seem to think it is. Most Christians would rather deal with an empty Throne rather than The Man that sits on it. What do I mean? Most Christians would rather determine the authority of the Lord in their life - they decide how great the Throne is, they measure the Throne by their own circumstance. Oh yes, 'If I've got lots of money, I'll give the Lord lots, but if I've just got a little bit, I won't give Him anything.' We determine the authority of the Lord, we determine the authority by our own circumstances. 'If it's convenient for me, I'll obey the Lord. If it's not convenient, then I'm not so quick to obey.' We let our own circumstances determine the authority of the Lord in us. If everything is going well and I've got plenty, then I'll share or I'll do this or that for the Lord. But if I'm in a test, if I'm in a trial, or if I seem to be just barely making it, and the Lord deals with me - give what you have to this one - all of a sudden the Throne becomes very small. And my circumstance becomes very large, and I will not obey the Lord. I'm just using that as an example. It works in every area of our life. We determine the size of the Throne, we determine the extent of His authority based on our circumstances. I've had many people tell me something along this line. 'Oh Brother Luman, when I get lots of money, when my ship comes in, I'm going to do great things for God. I'm going to build those buildings you want, etc.' The last time someone said that to me, I looked them in the eye and said, 'I don't want lots of money, I want the ten dollars you've got in your pocket, and God does too.' It's not just with money, I use that because that's an example. It's that way with everything. 'When I get everything straightened out, I'll serve the Lord.' The Throne is great when our circumstances are good. But when our circumstances change, the Throne gets smaller and smaller and smaller. I want us to see this - THE THRONE IS NOT MEASURED BY ME, not measured by you. THE THRONE IS MEASURED BY THE ONE WHO SITS ON IT! The more you come to know Him, the greater His Throne is in you! The greater view you have of Him, the greater His Throne. THE THRONE IS MEASURED BY THE ONE WHO SITS ON IT. I deal with Christians all the time. I have for a long time. I have people argue with me all the time about being faithful to God. People are that way about finances, time - everything. One of the things that amazes me most about Christians, about all of us - is our finances. If you want to measure the Throne of God in a person, deal with them in their finances. To see how big the Throne is - start touching their pocketbook. A simple little thing like tithing. I cannot imagine a Christian who does not tithe. THE TITHE BELONGS TO GOD! That's not mine to make a decision over. I've had people tell me, 'Well, I only have $100.' Then take $10 of it and give it to the Lord! There's nothing to pray about there. 'I've just got a dollar.' Then take a dime and give it to the Lord. It belongs to Him! That ought not to take a lot of commitment. I find this situation everywhere I go. What a shame. There would be no need in the Kingdom of God if every Christian was faithful in their tithe. We'd never have to take an offering if every Christian was faithful in their tithe and if every ministry was faithful in their tithe - but they are not. They make that decision based on their circumstances. That's what I'm talking about - not just in finances, but in all things. The Throne of God is just as big as our circumstances. One day the Throne is big, the next day you can't even find it, it is so small. I'm not talking about sinners, I'm talking about Christians. Christians who expect the Lord to do everything for them, expect God to answer every time they call, every time they say a prayer - and they'll argue with God over the simplest things of commitment on our part. That amazes me! It's so unbelievable, but I tell you, this is in the Church. We want the Throne of God to be some big chair over in Gloryland. I'm telling you, the Throne of God is the authority of the King working in me and working in you! This is what the scriptures declare - the authority of the King working in us. The Greek definition of the word "throne" is - seat of authority. It is the spiritual authority that is working in you. This is the Throne of God! When He says that He will bring us to His Throne, He will bring us into His authority. Before you will ever manifest His authority, you must be subject to His authority! That's the Throne. Most Christians think the Throne is a big chair they are going to get to sit on. There's only ONE who sits on the Throne! He brings us to His authority; His authority works in us. Then His authority works through us, but it is always HIS authority. We can either obey, or we can make excuses, but I tell you this - the Throne is measured by the One who sits on it, not by me, not by my circumstances. I will either obey the authority of the Throne, or I will come under the judgment of that same Throne. That's the truth. You don't fool God, you don't argue with God. You can argue with me, and I end up saying, 'Okay, do what you are going to do.' You're not going to argue with the Lord. You'll either come to the Throne of His authority, you'll either become subject to that authority, live in that authority, or that same Throne that is full of grace and mercy will become to you the Throne of judgment. There's not three or four Thrones - there's just one Throne - The Throne of His authority, the Throne of His grace, the Throne of His mercy, the Throne of His glory - it's also the Throne of His judgment. Let's read some verses. The Throne is defined and measured by the One who sits on it. 2 Samuel 7:13 and 16, "He shall build a house for my name and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever." What I want you to notice is - the Throne of His Kingdom, the Throne is defined by HIM. I want you to see that there's never just a Throne. It's always HIS Throne. In some way or other, the Throne is always connected with THE ONE who sits on it. What I'm saying is you and I do not determine the size of the Throne - HE DOES! You and I do not determine the greatness of the authority - HE DOES! You and I do not just face a Throne, we face THE MAN ON THE THRONE! It makes all the difference. Let me tell you a little story. I was in Africa a few years ago. I met a man there who was a traditional King, the King of that area. And we were in a meeting one day and he come it. First comes a man carrying a big staff - it represents the authority this man represents. Then comes a man with a big umbrella and he is holding that over the King. Behind that is a man carrying a cushion - it represents the throne. So they all come in. They put the cushion down and the King sits on it. The one man stands with his umbrella, the other man stands with his staff. We were in a big room and the King came and sat beside me in a folding chair and we talked with one another. I knew he as a King, and we just sat there and we talked. He invited my wife and I to his palace the next day. So we went and we walked into this room and there were seats all around. Right in the center of this room there was this throne. It was a big chair and it was gold colored. We walked in and saw the throne. Now I had seen the King and talked with him, but now I'm in this room and I see the throne. So we sit down and we're talking among ourselves. All of a sudden, here comes this man in with this staff, behind him here comes the King. He walks in the room, and he doesn't come and sit down beside me, he sits on that throne. Now I see the King on his throne. That's what makes the difference. Not just the man, not just the throne - now the two come together. And that throne is measured by the one sitting on it. What do I do? I sit there and keep my mouth shut. I wait until he speaks before I speak! What I'm saying is this - what makes the authority in your life great is when This King comes to be magnified in you - when This King establishes His authority. We're not just talking then about rules and regulations, we're talking about A MAN! It's not just a concept, not a rule, but a Man, a King having authority in me. I'm not facing an empty Throne - not just rules or concepts - a Man comes in and he sits upon the Throne. You are facing A MAN! Inwardly - you and I come to face The King. It's not just authority - it's HIS authority; not just a Throne - He sits on the Throne. The Throne magnifies The Man. But The Man gives dimension to the Throne - they become ONE! Every where we read about the Throne, it's connected with The Man. Everything of the Spirit is this way. Righteousness is this way. We don't just face righteousness - we face the righteousness of Christ. Everything is brought into Him. So that I'm not just arguing with a concept, I'm arguing with The King. See, if Christians could just see that. They argue about tithing, they make tithing a concept. But when that comes into The King, then you are not facing a concept, you're facing The King. And that's a great difference. Righteousness, holiness, obedience - those become concepts, empty thrones. We make them large or small, but when The King comes is - The King of Righteousness, King of Holiness, King of Finance - KING! Then the issue is with the King, not a concept. We must know that our issue is with The King. HIS THRONE IS NOT EMPTY - HE SITS UPON IT. He is the measure of it. He is the measure of righteousness. He is the measure of holiness, He is the measure of obedience, He is the measure of commitment. Our measure is with The King! Isaiah 6:1, " In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple." He didn't just see the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on the Throne! First the King is revealed in us. We realize - He is in me, but the revealing continues and the King sits upon a throne. He establishes His authority in my soul. He invades my territory! He begins to expand His dominion. What is my soul? My mind, my emotions, my will. These things come under the authority of the King, to where it is no longer "my mind", but the mind of Christ working in me; not "my will", but the will of God working in me; not "my emotions" but the emotions of the King - peace, joy, long suffering, love, temperance, kindness. We call it the Fruit of the Spirit. It is the emotions of the King. He doesn't bring my emotions under control, He establishes His emotions in my soul. It is not me learning how to love, it is His love working in me! Paul says this, "being renewed in the spirit of your mind, whereby you've put off the old man and you've put on the new man." The old man does not get better, the old man does not learn how to serve. The old man is done away and we've put on the new man - the mind of Christ, the will of Christ, the emotions of Christ. Listen - my mind changes every day. The mind of God is always the same. My will changes every day. The will of God is always the same. My emotions change all the time, but the Fruit of the Spirit, the emotions of God are always the same. Paul says that we'd be renewed - that literally means a recreation. That we'd be renewed in the spirit of our minds, putting off the old, putting on the new. What is that? It is the King establishing His Throne in my very soul. It is not me learning concepts, it is The Son being formed in my soul. It is His working which worketh mightily in me. I saw the Lord - yes - sitting upon His Throne, establishing His dominion - mind, will, emotions - in my soul. "Not I, but Christ who liveth in me." This is The Throne! You can argue with concepts. Once you've seen the King sitting on His Throne, there's no argument left in you. Like Isaiah, you will fall on your face, you will cry out, 'My God, My God, I'm a man of unclean lips, in the midst of a people of unclean lips. Mine eyes have seen the King in His glory. And it is too great to say, it is too great for words.' When Paul saw the King sitting upon His Throne, he cried out, ' I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, Christ liveth in me.' This is the result of seeing The King upon His Throne. When Jeremiah saw the King upon His Throne, he fell upon his face and cried out, 'Oh God, I can not say this. I am but a little child.' When Ezekiel saw the King sitting upon His Throne, once again, he falls upon his face, his tongue is smitten and he can not speak in the presence of the King. What am I saying? When The King is revealed in you, and comes to sit upon His Throne, never again will it be you who speaks. No - it will be the voice of The King! Not my words, my gospel, not my testimony, but the testimony of the King. The Word of The King - THE LIVING WORD! This is the result of the Throne, the King establishing His Throne in you. Never again can it be me. The King sits upon His Throne instead. We're going to skip over now and look at the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Revelation 4:2. What is John talking about? What does the book say? The Revelation of Jesus Christ! Everything in this book has to do with Christ being revealed in you. This book is not the revelation of the City of God, it's not the revelation of Jerusalem, it's not the revelation of the golden candlesticks - all those things are there. It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. You and I will never understand those things except by having The Son revealed in us. That whole book has to do with Christ being revealed in you. As He is revealed in you, you'll understand the mystery of the candlesticks, you'll understand the mystery of heaven, you'll understand the mystery of New Jerusalem, you'll understand the mystery of the city foursquare - as Christ is revealed in you! John was caught up with the revelation of The Son! He never left Patmos, his feet never left the ground, but he was caught up in the heavens, he was caught up in the Spirit, he was caught up in the revelation of The Son. And what did he see? He saw One sitting on a Throne! Revelation 4:2, "And immediately I was in the Spirit and behold a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." Now Revelation 5:6 - the nature of the Throne. What kind of a Throne? It's defined by the King. The nature of The King is the nature of the Throne. What kind of a King is He? What kind of a Priest, what kind of a ruler? Look - "And I beheld, and lo, in the midst of the throne, and of the four beasts in the midst of the elders, stood a lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." We'll just deal with one little part of this. Our King is a Lamb, our Priest is a Lamb - HE IS A LAMB SLAIN! Not a weak Lamb. There's nothing weak about Him. He has come through death, hell and the grave! But He's a Lamb. He is not haughty, He is humble, He is kind, long suffering, but He's all powerful! Our King is a Lamb, but He's a Lamb slain! Oh friends, I can't say it, I can't say what it means - for the Lamb to stand in the midst of us - as though He were slain. He is alive, and yet He is crucified. He lives and yet it is as though He were slain. What is He saying? Just this - I'M ALIVE UNTO GOD FOREVERMORE, BUT FOREVERMORE I AM DEAD UNTO SIN! Sin has no place here. Adam has no place here. Self has no place here. I'm alive unto God but I'm dead unto sin. When you face Him, sin has no place, self has no place, Adam has no place - not before this Lamb! There's no excuse for it, no room for it, because He is alive unto God, for He is dead unto sin! You can't face the Lamb who laid down His life, and make an excuse for not laying down yours! We're not facing a concept called 'discipleship' - we're facing The Lamb Himself! He didn't talk about doing it, He did it! And when we face Him, our excuses are no good. That's what I'm talking about. That's the nature of the Throne. He is kind, longsuffering, humble, but you don't bring your excuses before Him. He's already been there. He's already done it. He's already made the way. Don't tell Him it's impossible. He'll just look at you and say, "I'M THE WAY, I'M THE TRUTH, I'M THE LIFE." You can not face the slain Lamb and make an excuse for sin, make an excuse for self - you can't do it, there's no excuses at the Throne! There's just The Lamb! Hallelujah! He makes no demands upon us that He Himself has not established. He'll never take you somewhere He has not already gone. Who is the Overcomer? He who followeth the Lamb wheresoever He goeth. Who comes to the Throne? The Overcomer! Who is the Overcomer? He who regards not his life unto death. OUR KING IS A LAMB! OUR PRIEST IS A LAMB! When we come to the Throne, it is the Lamb that finally we face. What are we talking about? We're taking about the Revelation of Jesus Christ. We're talking about God revealing His Son in you - as King, as Priest. We're talking about Him establishing His authority in our very soul, in our very hearts. We're talking about His nature being worked in us. Not the nature of excuses, the nature of The Lamb as though He were slain. Beyond that, we're talking about His dominion, His Kingdom being made manifest in a people. THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS IN YOU! But the Kingdom of God will never be manifest in you until The King is revealed, until He sits on His Throne, until His nature is established. My one prayer for me and my prayer for you is just this, 'God, my Father, reveal your Son in me, the eyes of our understanding being enlightened, that we may come to know Him by the fulness of the Spirit." AMEN and AMEN!! When you are dispersed throughout your country, you go as Ambassadors of The Kingdom, Ambassadors of The King. Not ministers of concepts, but sons of the Living God, the Tabernacle of the High Priest, and the Kingdom of The King! That's what this is all about. May we ever grow in the knowledge of Him. May we set our hearts on knowing none but Him. May out from this the knowledge of Christ fill up the earth! Amen.
