When a person is Born Again, Christ is their Life. This does not mean that they have “their” life and also the Life of Christ. Christ is the only Life they have. It does not matter if the believer knows it or not. Christ is their Life, this does not change.
The difference is when Christ is REVEALED in the believer. This changes the way the believer acts (what he does and does not do).
When a believer does not know that they have the Life of Christ, then they can act like if they have another life. They can act like they used to before they were Born Again.
This is why it is so important that Christ be REVEALED in us. We do not know the Life we have until Christ is revealed. God the Father wants to reveal His Son in every Born Again believer. The job of the Holy Spirit is to (reveal) show us Christ (the Life IN us).
Do you know about the Apostle Paul? Before he was Born Again he tried to destroy the Church by killing Christians. After he was Born Again, God REVEALED His Son IN Paul. This is what changed him. What Paul knew did not change him - The Revelation of Jesus Christ changed Paul. This is the difference. This is what changed Paul and this is what will change us – The Revelation of Jesus Christ.
Here is what Paul said,
Gal 1:13-16
“For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me…”
Gal 1:20-24
“Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me.”
